Shanky Poker Bots

Shanky Technologies Poker Bots

The Shanky Technologies Holdem Bot was first released on the Bonus Bots website in March of 2008. It was an innovative product, but had it's limitations. The user could only adjust it's playing decisions by a series of dropdown settings on the graphical interface. Still, it was one of the better poker bot products to actually become available to the public. The primary target was fixed limit games back then. Many of us did well clearing poker room deposit bonuses with it.

The public wanted a No Limit bot, however, and they wanted to be able to customize it more. Shanky released several upgrades per month until the bot was capable of holding it's own in low stakes NL games in the fall of 2008. With each release the user could control the playing instructions more and more.

In the spring of 2009, Shanky Technologies released Generation 2 of their Holdem Bot software, which incorporated a new way for the user to create their own set of playing instructions: an easy-to-understand programming language called Poker Programming Language, or PPL for short. This was a unique development, because it was designed for laymen and not programmers. Most experienced poker players who know their way around a computer keyboard could now completely customize the bot's playing instructions and save them as 'profiles' in Notepad.

The result was a plethora of user-created profiles soon being developed. A profiles marketplace appeared in the Bonus Bots support forum where members traded and sold profiles targeting different game types. Many good ones were shared freely. This practice continues to this day.

In the years that followed, more variables were added to PPL, and improvements are still posted regularly. In the software business, the developers must stay active and hands-on in order to keep up with changes in their environment - otherwise they quickly become obsolete. The political climate for online poker has been a rocky ride, and online poker rooms go in and out of business, or change networks and software on a regular basis. Through it all, Shanky Technologies has been there and continues to offer an outstanding product at a very reasonable price. These guys are dedicated - and good at what they do.

Some of the features include:

The ability to tweak your own profile from as little as one simple line of PPL for one unique situation, to creating your own full-blown playing profile that handsles every possible poker situation.

A good tight-aggressive profile for NL cash games that can be used right out of the box to grind rakeback or clear bonuses, which can be easily tweaked here and there as the user sees fit.

Excellent free profiles available for MTT's and SNG's.

The ability to multi-table up to 6 tables at a time.

A built-in adjustable bathroom-break feature, so your bot appears human to your opponents.

Top-notch support and an active community of members who are helpful with questions and responsive to topical discussions about online poker.

It is Shanky's goal to supply a product which has no competition. They have accomplished this, as to this date there is no comparable product on the market.
